Hi Matt,
Dig your style! Which class, 101 or 102, would you recommend for a long-time guitar player who’s “mastered” the essentials, but who has really not moved beyond simple mando chords and basic picking technique (and who’s a dyslexic who struggles with music notation and tabs)? I’d appreciate your feedback.
Thanks!
Ron
Hi Ron,
Thanks! I would probably recommend 101 as this will give you some position playing in several keys that you can build on as you learn and create melodies. Your guitar experience will help a great deal, and I think you’d probably be fine in either course. 101 sounds like a better bet to me, though, just so that you can really get the positions and double stops down and familiar before moving forward. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!
Matt
Matt,
Just found your course and regret not finding it sooner. Is it too late to sign up. I will probably never catch up but it would be great to have access to your lessons over the summer. How long after the course are the recorded session and videos available for?
Hi Mike,
We’re halfway through, but you’re welcome to still sign up. All of the videos are available to view on our class site, and I’m happy to help guide you through what we’ve done and prioritize the important stuff. We’re getting into some more meaty stuff this week, but I think if you check out a couple of the tunes and double stop exercises you’ll have a good head start on it.
The recorded lessons and videos are yours to keep if you do sign up (they can all be downloaded), and they’re also available to view online for at least a few months after the conclusion of the course.
Also, if you do decide to sign up, you might log in early (maybe 20-30 minutes before the class start time) just to get familiar with the interface we use. I’ll be logged in about 30 minutes before class and can answer any questions you might have.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope to see you on Wednesday!
Thanks,
Matt
